We are on track

Sustainability means (our) future

At UNIQFOOD, we believe that acting responsibly and transparently is an essential part of our corporate philosophy. We are committed to minimising our ecological impact as much as possible. We prioritise the careful use of natural resources and are dedicated to promoting sustainability throughout our supply chain.

Our aim is to constantly develop innovative approaches to improve the ecological footprint of our products with our customers. At the same time, we take social responsibility by ensuring fair working conditions for our employees and promoting them throughout our supply chain.

Measurable progress

Our goals at a glace

Our vision and mission form the basis for our commitment to sustainability and responsibility. To realise our high standards in practice, we have defined five specific goals to help us measure our successes. These goals are as follows:

Ziel 1/5

1. Reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030

As part of our climate strategy, we have set ourselves the goal of reducing our site-related greenhouse gas emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by at least 45% across the company by 2030, compared to our 2021 baseline. In defining this target, we were guided by the requirements of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), setting ourselves science-based reduction targets in the process. This is our contribution to achieving the 1.5°C target of the Paris Climate Agreement.
We are also working intensively to determine the greenhouse gas emissions generated in our value chain (Scope 3). By the end of 2026, we aim to produce an initial report of the categories material to us.

Sustainability independently assessed

EcoVadis

At UNIQFOOD, we have decided to expand and optimise our sustainability management.

To this end, since 2023, we have been relying on an independent sustainability assessment by EcoVadis, a leading global rating agency established in 2007.

The EcoVadis rating covers a wide range of non-financial management systems, including environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Each participating company is assessed on issues relevant to its size, location, and industry.

These assessments are translated into easy-to-read scorecards, which show scores ranging from zero to one hundred (0–100). The scorecards also highlight strengths and areas for improvement, helping us to better target our sustainability efforts and create corrective action plans to improve our CSR performance.

Our second evaluation shows: We are on the right track!

After an already pleasing first result, we were able to improve further at the second. This result motivates us to push ahead with our development and continuously improve.

17 Global Goals adopted by the United Nations

Sustainability Development Goals

As part of our sustainability strategy, we are guided by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. These are 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations as part of the 2030 Agenda, which aims to promote sustainable economic, social and environmental development worldwide by 2030. We have focused on the SDGs that are particularly relevant to our company and to which we can actively contribute. Below, we present the SDGs that are of key importance to us, along with our associated measures and targets.

SDG 2 - Zero hunger

Price-conscious frozen meals

At UNIQFOOD, we are a private label producer for our retail partners. We produce frozen food at all price points. By doing so, we play a significant role in making balanced meals accessible to all consumers.

Social commitment

For many years, we have been donating food from our production facilities that does not make it into regular sales to regional food banks.

Together for a more sustainable future

Collaboration in the value chain

We place great importance on close collaboration and partnership within our value chain. As an active member of the German Frozen Food Institute (dti), we are committed to upholding the highest standards in the frozen food industry and optimising our processes. Open communication with our suppliers and customers is a core value of our company. This is the only way to create precise greenhouse gas balances, for example, and ensure compliance with important sustainability regulations such as the German Supply Chain Sustainability Act (LkSG) or the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
